I just went out and tried a 1 oz. load using the DRV20 wad. STS hull and W-209, 17.0 grs, Longshot, (Hodgdon lists from 16.3 to 18.0 using the WAA20F1), and 1 oz. #7-1/2 shot. Had to use a little bit of wad pressure, but it then fit and crimped very nicely. Just need to contact Hodgdon and get their blessing on the load.

OTOH, I've had superb results with the SG20 wads and virtually every 6-point Euro hull ...Cheddite, Kent, Rio, Aguila, PMC, etc., etc. Federal hulls include here, but not with viable powders...However, in the BPI Advantages Manual, there is conflicting data like you describe with CB-1075-20 and WAA20 wads. Just wondering what everyone's favorite heavy upland load is. My all time favorite is 1 ounce of sixes doing 1220 fps with a SP20 wad. This year I have loaded up plenty to make it through the season but have also made some 1 1/8 ouncers at 1175 fps as heavy hitters and 7/8 ounces doing 1470-1480...Federal Top Gun hull (without depriming), 7/8th oz #8, Hodgdon Universal, with an orange duster. The test: 1) Drop hull 5 times on a concrete floor from 3 feet with crimp facing down (and hitting floor first). 2) Then bang (throw) hull down 15 times on the concrete floor from 1-2 feet at various random angles.

I was using long shot and the claybuster wads and then switched powder, which caused stack height problems with the CB wads. I switched to the Windjammers and haven't looked back.

For 2 3/4" non toxic 20 ga loads, the straight walled hulls are the best. Fiocchi, Cheddite, Rio, Federal. You can get away with Bismuth in the Rem and Win hulls with the right powder and wads. I think the wad you have is an SP20 instead of RXP20. The RXP20 shot cup depth is 7/8" with smooth petals and the SP20 is 1" with stitched petals and ribs.
