G29. Only got it this year. More than adequate for my skills and usage. It’s 4 years old but still mint after lots of use. I cleaned it up and upgraded from a wheel stand to a playseat challenge in anticipation for GT7. My next wheel will be the GT DD, but I’m in no hurry to get off my wallet yet. Fanatec GT DD Pro.
It is grindy and always will be, but if you enjoy tuning and trying out different cars, there are lots of ways to make your own fun. There are still only 4 big-payout races (over 400k) but there are also plenty of smaller races that pay 100-200k as well. Just beware that there are legendary cars that cost 20 million. GT4*, easy to confuse the two. I completely and totally agree though, I started with Gran Turismo 2 and was hooked from the start as a kid. The optimal setting is to enable 120hz AND prioritise Ray Tracing/Resolution, this will give you both a 120fps output without the graphics being compromised. You are correct, things will look jagged with prioritize frame rate with 120hz on, but if you have Ray tracing on and 120hz on, you are only getting about 70 to 80 frames per second.
