Best woods cam for 103.
Road dawg. I swear by Feulings cam, I run a 525 Reaper in my 2011 96 inch motor but for a 103 the 543 Reaper is a solid performer, but if you want under 4k many people I know have gotten excellent low end with the 525 in a 103, my go to cam, good luck on your choice. When all else fails, hell there is always Jack Daniels!

As for the video above, woods cams have a reputation for making good power, but they are also known for being very aggressively ground. That makes them noisy and hard on parts. I would think by looking at the Woods dyno result for the 5-6 cam that for your stated purpose it would be best fulfilled by the 5-6 cam. 5-6 cam shows tremendous torque and it comes on soon for low end scoot ! So far so good.Need a few more sessions with the Tmax to get a better feel for it.Keeping this cam below 3000 rpm is goin to be tuff for break-in.The cam seems to really want to stretch it's legs easily beyond 3K but it should I guess.If you have a proper valve job and porting on your heads with a bump in compression to get you over 10:1, preferably 10.5:1 you will see much bigger gains. I had Woods TW777, which worked well, but that being said, this configuration will be more stock as far as the engine is concerned. Meaning the pistons, heads, and whatnot will be stock. I ride over 20K a year.

The 777 cam is not a low end torque cam and you need to run the bike over the 3000 rpm range to get the cam to perform. For a stock engine with a stage 1 upgrade the TW 222 or the TW 555 is a much better cam option.
