The KS47 is supposed to work with all AK mags. I’ve had to use my dremmel to make the gen 3s work so if you really want gen 3s, that’s what you’d have to do. I found that the poly Bulgarian mags w/ steel tab worked perfectly without mod. So there’s that.

Basically, the KS47 uppers are wider to allow for AK mags to fit. In order to make a standard upper work, you would need to add material to it. This can be done be welding aluminum to a standard upper, and then machining it for KS47 specs. The KS47 Gen 2 has most if not all of the issues fixed that are in the Gen 1. Specifically the magazine wobble or it getting pushed up due to not having the over insertion tabs. If you already have an AK with AK mags or plan to, the KS47 Gen 2 would be a good choice since you wont need to get any new mags.On the Range there are a lot of hard surfaces that the blast is bouncing off of. In the field there are only soft surfaces that dampen the blast. Suppression is very subjective with the immediate surrounding area having a big affect on how the blast affects you. 3 Likes. At this point the rifle can cycle by hand. Time to mount a key-mo muzzle device. The BRN barrel is thin with the ⅝" gas block. That leaves little to no barrel for a shoulder for the muzzle device.
