Mar 10, 2014. #1. From my own experience with JD-Van Brunt, Oliver, Lilliston, and Marliss grain drills, I don't think your drill is going to handle that mix at all. You've got too wide a variety of seed shapes and textures mixed together for the drill to feed accurately.

Feed cups should be set at uppermost notch of the three- small seed, so the cup is closed down the most. DOUBLE RUN drill is set different.

The newer version was the 1560, and then the 1590. If your budget will allow it, get at least a 1560.
