The SLIDE width between the G30 and the G30s is about an 1/8th of an inch thinner. The length difference is between Gen 3 and Gen 4 frames. The WIDTH between the Gen 3 and Gen 4 FRAMES are the same. The G30s slide is about the same WIDTH as the Glock 9mm/.40 cal models.I have been looking to add a Glock 45 to my stable of Glocks. I am having a very hard time deciding between the 30 and the 30S. I know the 30 is a sweet shooter in a small package, but it is fairly hefty. All that heft does absorb recoil though. The 30s is thinner in the slide and obviously a lighter gun.
