I pulled the whole plastic thing off, moved the thermistor to the top of the slider, put the slider back on in the middle, and used a thermometer over 3 days of adjusting, to get my temp to 36 degrees, perfect beer. My adjustment is still very close to the middle, and 1/4 inch makes about 5 degree difference.
