Pit boss austin xl auger not turning.
Hi, I have a Austin XL with a Smoke Daddy PID controller. The smoker can not get down to 225F. it will happily sit at 300 at any controller temp under 300. Above 300 controller temp it will control it reasonably well. I can crack the door open ~1in and i can get down to 225.... so it seems like a airflow issue.

The pellets start to burn up into the auger tube, and it will start to smoke very heavy white smoke and come out of the hopper. To stop it I have to push the prime button for quite a long time until new pellets push the burning ones out.

Hey I can actually help here. What you need to do is loosen the screws that are on top of the auger motor. They tightened them too much, so much so that the shaft binds up. The video below will show you how to take it off and you'll see the 4 screws that hold the shaft on. Just loosen those a fraction and it should work.
