From all the recent things I've heard it is superb revolver. It's hard imaging the python is that much better-spending $600 more than the king cobra target is. I haven't messed with any of the new Colt revolvers but if they come anywhere close to the level of the old Pythons it'll be worth it.The original King Cobra was a heavy medium frame and cylinder model about the same size and weight as the S&W "L" frame. The New King Cobra is basically a redesigned size version of the Colt Detective Special or Diamondback. The frame is about the same size as the S&W "K" frame and the Colt and S&W "K" frame cylinders are the same diameter.
