Both weapons have a pretty hefty stat requirement but Sword of night and flame have a split into both faith and int. I think most weapons are better than the DMGS. Dark moon is pure unusable vs a lot of bosses and it's not just because of the cast time for the special. I'd recommend a good amount of vit to complement the sword. In pvp, I feel it can get pretty predictable since its windup animation is really easy to see. You might get good results if you learn to free aim the projectile to catch rolls or something, but I feel other weapons and projectiles do that a lot better.
