I think the first thing to fail in a stock calibrated TH400 due to power would usually be the direct clutches. The sprag is a weak point also but I think engine rpm is as much of a killer as power. The 330 uses a lot of forged internals so it's pretty stout. Your biggest limitation with stock pistons and any kind of FI is going to be due to the compression ratio, which will limit the amount of boost you can add without major detonation issues. That said, about 400 crank hp on stock internals isn't a problem.

Weak pinion gears. The 7.5 can take about 250 hp with a auto trans and last a good long time. 300 up and breakage is inevitable. I drive my car like a p***y for that very reason.
