Verifying the game will give the message "three files failed to validate and will be reacquired", and checking back again before launching the game again shows that they are still there. However, if I open the game and check again, the message shows up again. I'd assume it's the same three files, though I'm not sure how I'd confirm this.

As for when it will reacquire, it does so immediately after validating, but as I said, the file that gets retreived will fail to validate regardless.
