Only twin cam softails cam with the "b" motor. All touring and Dyna motors are the "A". The main difference is the Softail "B" motors have 2 balance weights that are driven by the crank. The part that you mention about it happens at a lower RPM, if it is below about 1200-1400 RPM, it may indicate a loose primary chain.
