You can go for more status effects by putting a cold katana in your left hand and still use the weapon art of the moonveil. The L1 power stancing will build bleed faster and having the cold will help. Status effects scale well into the higher NG+. You can still use the weapon art to break stances decently well.

(Assuming this is about pvp) Edit: you can dual wield uchi, put seppuku on one and put bloodfang dash on the other, really broken (in a good way) If a weapon uses somber stones, it goes to 10.
