That is called a host tether, and it applies to all singleplayer games when someone joins. Your friend won't be able to go too far away from you before the game plops him down where you are. To up the distance you are expecting your console or PC to be running a full server and the game. You need a really decent PC to be able to do that so you could run a full dedicated. Find an unofficial server that meets your needs and play on there.

It's so frustrating when you're in battle with a friend and they get killed at when they re-spawn their body instantly gets dragged to you killing them over and over again. Please fix this ASAP

I just posted a guide. You can add a line to your Enging.ini file to fix the FoV on 32:9 ! It will look a lot better. The weapons won't take up so much of the screen. You can increase further then the slider allows by entering a number instead. Water and caves mess with the tether distance. If any of you have a halfway decent computer I would recommend running a dedicated server in the background on one of your computers. Or on a seperate computer if one of you have a spare.Either way, 10 minutes. Find an unofficial cluster. On PC, you can type in a number for the tether distance (60 will cover most of if not all of the map). If on pc you can setup a non dedicated server by hosting it and they can join tour server while you are online. As for tether you can configure it on pc by typing 1000 into the tether distance option. Don't use the scroll bar.
